End-of-Life Information Sharing for a Circular Economy: Existing Literature and Research Opportunities.

Summary Intelligent products carrying their own information are more and more present nowadays. A lot of research works focuses on the usage of such products during the manufacturing or delivery phases. This led to important contributions concerning product data management in the framework of HMS (Holonic Manufacturing Systems). This paper aim is to: (1) make a review of the major contributions made for EOL information management (data models, communications protocols, materials, …) in the framework of a circular economy, (2) have a first overview on the industrial reasons explaining why these systems are not widely implemented. This previous points help to highlight potential research directions to develop in the near future.
