Summary A group of agents must share the water of a river along which they are located. Monetary compensations are allowed. The authors show that the cooperative game associated with this problem is convex: its kernel is therefore large and easy to describe. They propose the following fairness criterion: no group of agents should obtain a welfare higher than the one they could obtain in the absence of the others. The authors show that only one distribution in the kernel satisfies this criterion.
