Contribution of signal processing to the detection of aerodynamic instabilities of the axial compressor of a turbojet engine.

Summary Discovering a means of systematically controlling the aerodynamic instabilities of turbojet compressors is one of the current challenges for aircraft engine manufacturers. It would give access to more efficient engines with minimal risk. The objective of this study is to bring a new look, that of the signal processor, on this problem of fluid dynamics. To do this, a non-destructive testing problem and a formulation in terms of source location are presented. They lead to efficient methods of single and multi-sensor detection.
