The research focuses on methods of understanding and regulating risks, in particular those in the insurance sector. This research initiative is concerned with how the sector has changed and with the practices that have emerged over the last twenty years, focusing on two major developments: the transformation of the risk apprehension methods that have accompanied the introduction of Solvency II since the end of the 1990s, and mobilization around Big Data since the early 2000s. The work is organized around two disciplinary approaches: mathematical and epistemological on the one hand, and sociological on the other.
