  • Normativity of internality, evaluative judgment, and normative insight in sport contexts: studies in soccer.

Boris VALLEE, Andre MENAUT, Denis CASTRA
    2005
Following the theoretical perspective of the internality norm, we question its existence in the explanatory process of young soccer players and in the evaluative judgment of soccer coaches. Studies 1a and 1b report on the presence of an internality norm in soccer. By considering event valence, categories of internality, and life domains, a differential normative activation emerges. A second series of studies (Studies 2a and 2b) shows that 1- in a detection situation, sporting criteria are preponderant, 2- in a tenure situation, the normative dimension is central. Finally (Study 3), we are interested in the normative clairvoyance (theoretically resulting from the content of the pedagogical practices experienced by the subject), training sessions based on distinct approaches (technical vs. global) reveal a slight effect of the global practices on the level of clairvoyance of players.
