Summary The objective of the present work is to contribute to facilitate a global diagnosis by carrying out an analysis of wood flows at the national scale that takes into account exchanges related to imports and exports. To do so, we rely on the methodology of material flow analysis (MFA), a method for systematically assessing the flows into and out of a system defined in time and space (Brunner and Rechberger, 2003). To achieve this, we develop a data reconciliation technique inspired by Cencic and Rechberger (2008). In addition, we use the cubic meter wood fiber equivalent defined by Weimar (2009) and used by Bösch et al. (2015) as a unit.
