Summary This thesis focuses on the study of voluntary earnings announcements by listed companies. The empirical studies carried out shed light on the factors explaining the use of this type of communication and their effects on the French stock market. The practice of voluntary disclosure is justified by the significant participation of foreign institutional investors. These investors offer a guarantee of protection for minority shareholders. Signaling considerations have also been put forward. Voluntary earnings releases tend to reduce the uncertainty of financial analysts and investors. They also improve the liquidity of securities and reduce information asymmetry. Finally, it appears that managers use different earnings release strategies depending on the objectives pursued by the company.
